Right to Care
Foundation for Professional Development
Program Overview
South Africa is a country with an HIV prevalence rate of 18.8%, and the lack of practical clinical expertise in HIV/AIDS is one of the greatest constraints to the rapid scale up of HIV/AIDS treatment programs.
In collaboration with multiple local non governmental organizations, ICEHA clinical mentors are providing hands-on coaching to help local healthcare providers gain this practical expertise. Adult and paediatric HIV specialists are needed. Mentors will be stationed at rural clinics and hospitals throughout South Africa (with an initial focus in Northern Cape and Limpopo). Tens of thousands of patients will benefit as a result.
