ICEHA is a US-based 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization set up in November 2001.  To date ICEHA has succeeded remarkably in
leveraging cash donations into high-value, quantifiable services:  for every 1 US$ in cash received, ICEHA has been able to generate 13 US$ in in-kind services.

Every physician trained in HIV care is able to take care of 250 HIV infected patients / year.  As a result of our initial endeavors, a total of 30,000 HIV-infected patients could receive proper HIV care.  Our simple transfer of medical knowledge has a multiplier effect on disease prevention, access to healthcare, and the overall society (social return on investment).

Additional financial support would make expansion of these high-impact programs possible.   Financial support may be given in three categories: in-country support, support to expand ICEHA’s volunteer network, and operational support.

  • Support to expand ICEHA’s network of medical volunteer, which allows for expansion of our network of medical volunteers (doctors, nurses, and pharmacists) in order to be able to more rapidly respond to ever increasing requests for technical assistance on HIV care and medication.  Grants we receive in this category go to soliciting, screening, and training our HIV provider volunteers.

  • Support for ICEHA’s operations:  While our volunteers work pro bono, there are still costs associated with organizing our operations.  These expenses range from renting office space for central coordination, to site assessments when requests for technical assistance have been received, to conducting the annual financial audit.  Operational funding allows us to expand our programs and ensure efficient coordination between our network of medical volunteers and our partners in developing countries.

  • In-country support entails providing funding for the program costs in the respective developing countries.  ICEHA uses country support funds to tailor ICEHA’s general curriculum to local circumstances, to implement ICEHA’s training modules in the field, to pay the transportation expenses of our HIV providers volunteering technical assistance for up to 8 weeks pro bono, and to conduct quality control following the program.
